52 Weeks Of Gratitude Challenge

I was pretty excited when I stumbled upon this idea on a blog via Pinterest. I’m not usually one to try challenges but I thought it might be fun to give it a go this year and well, we could all use more gratitude in our hearts, right?

Instead of journaling this year long adventure, I thought it would be fun to share it here on my blog!

52 Weeks Challenge
So, the first question in this challenge, however I don’t believe it is the utmost importance that I stick to the rules, is: Why start this challenge?

Honestly, when I first started blogging I simply thought it would be a fun hobby or a good way to update people on my life, but throughout this journey I have realized this could become a way to share what Christ is doing in my heart in a real, down to earth way. That is why this challenge stuck out to me.

I tend to wait until I feel like I’ve had a “light bulb moment” to open up my laptop and hash out a blog post, but with the direction I want to go writing once a month is not going to cut it. I decided to take this challenge so that I can discipline myself into writing at least once a week. I’m sure I will add other posts on occasion, but for now I look forward to seeing how expressing gratitude adds to my blog.

One final reason to take this challenge is because I see a great need in our culture to be thankful for what we have. Not in a “I love what I have, and I’m gonna go find more” kind of way, but rather a “I love what I have and it is enough” kind of way. I hope to fully express my gratitude for all God has been for me in my life. To be blessed with a wonderful husband, family, friends, and home is simply extra.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and if you want to follow each week, simply subscribe below and you will be emailed every post. I would encourage other bloggers to take part in this challenge! If you do not blog, feel free to leave comments here with what you are grateful for each day. I look forward to experiencing gratitude with you. 🙂

Change, Culture, Gratitude

Go for it Sarah! This challenge combines you constantly being thankful with a goal to write consistently. That’s a win-win! I know what you mean about waiting for a “light bulb moment.” I’m starting to learn pretty early on that I need to just sit my but down and write even if I don’t specifically feel like I have something. Excited for you!
